Often Overlooked

A major key when drafting, and I’ve been seeing this all over the place is to be prepared. Not only does that mean doing your homework on players, match-ups, O-Line, etc you need to dive deeper to get that edge. One thing has been drastically overlooked and if you do the same you are in for a world of hurt. Manage your bye weeks!

I’ve been a victim of this in the past as well, your draft is moving along and you are grabbing the players you want until you notice you have four starters out week 7. Well that’s why you have a bench right? Yes, but losing four starters in one week is pretty detrimental to any team, you can almost chalk up an L for that week.

This is just a friendly but key reminder that there is more than meets the eye when it comes to the draft. Make sure you are keeping track of bye weeks and if the players you draft are that important to you and share byes, GET SOLID BACK-UPS.

I hope this helps, for your sake remember this. Think of this post as that string around your finger when you have to pick up milk from the store.

Preach on brother! I used this strategy in my first draft despite criticism and will do the same for my second one next week.
